id="triberr_endorsement">While Facebook does its best to deliver relevant stories into your Facebook news feed everyday, you may notice that over time you’ll see the same people, pages or groups more often than others while on Facebook.
Unfortunately this can lead to you being stuck seeing updates in your Facebook news feed that you don’t want. src="http://www.jacobcurtis.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/frownie.png" alt=":(" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" />
According to Facebook every time someone visits news feed there are on average 1,500style="font-size: 13.3333330154419px; line-height: 20px;"> potential stories from friends, people they follow and Pages for you to see.
This week’s #SocialMediaMinute will cover how to change your Facebook news feed settings.

Changing your news feed preferences will allow you a little more control over which users, groups and pages you see the most of while on Facebook.

How to Change your News Feed Preferences
To change your Facebook news feed preferences, locate the option in your Facebook settings.
From here you’ll first see the summary of all stories delivered by other users, groups, or pages from the last week.
For example, by selecting the people tab you should recognize that these are the users whose updates you see more often than others in your Facebook news feed.
To stop seeing updates from a particular user, simply choose to unfollow them.
Keep in mind, unfollowing a user will not de-friend them or inform them that they will no longer be prioritized in your Facebook news feed. The sames goes for pages, groups, and other Facebook apps like games.
Takeaway
Though I highly doubt Facebook will ever stop changing their edge rank news feed algorithm, I do feel they strive to provide a better user experience on their platform. It’s nice to see that we now have some control from within our profile settings that we can manually adjust as needed.
Unfollowing pages, groups, users, or apps from within your Facebook news feed preferences will allow room for other users’ updates to appear in your timeline or for more stories from those that you do want to see.
How do you feel about the stories you see in your Facebook news feed? Do you feel they are relevant and keep you entertained and engaged (clicking on ads *cough* *cough*) on their platform?
